    Ben has joined Longbridge Deverill Nursing Home as the Home Manager and brings a wealth of experience having worked in the health sector for 12 years and having gained his degree in nursing. Ben’s passion is knowing that he and his team are able to make a positive difference to all our residents’ lives whilst providing the very best in person-centred care. Longbridge Deverill offers a homely and friendly atmosphere where residents and their friends and families are made to feel most welcome.

    Maria started working at Longbridge Deverill Nursing home in 2020 after coming from a hospital setting. Maria has a wealth of clinical knowledge and a passion for Dementia and End of Life care.

    ‘I have been supported to progress in my role from Unit lead/RN to Deputy manager. I am currently completing my NVQ 5 in leadership and management and feel well supported within my role. We have a great team here and my role is immensely rewarding. I am passionate in ensuring that resident’s quality of life, interests and independence is upheld.’

    Klara is a Dementia Champion and has undergone enhanced training within dementia care, mental capacity and DoLs (deprivation of liberty safeguarding). Klara’s role ensures she is advocating for individuals to ensure their best interests are upheld and individuals with dementia are supported to lead fulfilled lives. Klara is involved in auditing processes to improve our dementia service and supports our care team and family members regarding issues relating to dementia care and services provided to older people.

    ‘I started working at LDNH as agency staff. I was sent here continuously for more than 2 years. The management of the care home noticed my skills and in October 2022 I was employed with a contract. In less than a year I became unit lead on the dementia unit. I like working at LDNH because the management is supportive and there are countless opportunities to advance in role. Apart from the supportive leadership, the most important thing is that we can make a difference in the days of our residents providing them person centered care. We are a family that trusts and helps each other to give the best of us’.

    ‘I started working at LDNH in Dec 2020 as a care assistant, this was my first job in the care sector and I can definitely say I have found my passion. I have been lucky enough to progress within my career completing my Level 3 NQV in Adult care and I am currently the Unit Lead on Marquess suite, alongside completing my Level 5 in Management. I have grown as a person in confidence as well as gaining a lot of knowledge and experience since I started working here. We have an amazing management team who are always there to support and guide us. All the staff here at LDNH are amazing and are continuously striving to be the best, we have a lovely atmosphere here and we all really care for the residents, we treat them as we would treat our own grandparents’.

    India started working at Longbridge Deverill Nursing home in September 2023 as a joint unit lead on the specialist dementia unit. India has worked in health and social care for 11 years and has loved every minute of it. She has found what she loves to do and has been lucky enough to progress in her career to a senior role. India am also being supported to complete her NVQ 5 in leadership and management. Working at Longbridge Deverill is a pleasure and the staff and residents make it a truly amazing place to work.

    Figgy has been visiting the care home for 3 years now and is owned by Maria the deputy manager. She feels very at home here and ensures to bring a smile to our residents and team. Fig is a Bedlington terrier x toy poodle and her passions include tennis balls, visiting residents and the food delivery service within the home!

Mollie is also partial to themed days and dressing up, she enjoyed dressing up as a reindeer and being wheeled around the home at Christmas!

    Doris occasionally visits Longbridge Deverill Nursing home, when she can be bothered to get out of bed! Doris is a bulldog, and her main hobbies are eating, sleeping and snoring. Doris enjoys visiting residents when she is here, making staff laugh and she can usually be spotted (or heard) snoozing under a desk or hunting for crumbs! Doris does not enjoy long walks but prefers home comforts and lots of attention during waking hours!

    Mango the silky chicken loves to visit the home. Mango offers variety to the usual claws and paws that visit! Mango has a lovely temperament and residents love the texture of her silky feathers. Mango loves spending time outdoors and grazing on a freshly cut lawn. Mango avoids the hairdressers, and we are still patiently waiting for some fresh eggs!
