This April, Longbridge Deverill Care Home was alive with patriotic fever as residents and staff came together to commemorate several significant occasions.

St. George’s Day Festivities

Kicking off the month was the spirited celebration of St. George’s Day. Residents and staff alike embraced the day's theme, dressing in the iconic colours of the English flag and sharing tales of legendary St. George. Laughter filled the halls as residents recounted their own victories, feeling a sense of camaraderie as they faced their own symbolic dragons.

Royal Coronation Anniversary

Another joyous occasion marked the first anniversary of the king's coronation. Residents eagerly participated in crafting decorative crowns, adorning them with jewels fit for royalty. The coronation anniversary party was a jubilant affair, with residents singing along to beloved British tunes, waving flags, and indulging in delectable snacks amidst vibrant decorations.

Also giving our residents to reminisce on the activities that took place last year for King Charles III's corrination. A day which all very much enjoyed, with great fondness.

Artistic Revelry on Art Day

Residents explored their creative sides during Art Day, delighting in a mesmerising marbling demonstration. Engaging in the artistic process fostered meaningful conversations and a sense of shared accomplishment among residents.

Cherishing Baby Day

The tender bonds of intergenerational connection were celebrated on Baby Day, as ten-month-old twins brought joy and laughter to Longbridge Deverill Care Home. Residents cherished cuddles with the babies, basking in the warmth of their presence and relishing in nostalgic nursery rhymes.

Enchanting Visit from a Pygmy Goat

An unexpected visitor brought delight to Longbridge Deverill Care Home as a pygmy goat trotted through the halls, accompanied by its owner, Gemma. Residents marvelled at the curious creature, engaging in lively discussions about its habits and habitat, further enriching their understanding of the world beyond the home.

Each of these celebratory activities served to strengthen the sense of community and personal identity at Longbridge Deverill Care Home, Wiltshire. From spirited St. George's Day festivities to heartwarming cuddles on Baby Day, every event contributed to the emotional wellbeing and social engagement of residents.
