Excitement Builds for Longbridge Deverill Summer Fete
Longbridge Deverill is gearing up for a fun-filled day as the community eagerly anticipates the annual Summer Fete on Friday 26th July. Scheduled from 11am to 3pm, the event promises a delightful array of activities and attractions for all ages, ensuring a memorable day out for residents and visitors alike.
A Variety of Stalls & Unique Crafts
Visitors can look forward to exploring a diverse selection of stalls that cater to a range of interests. Among the highlights are the Plant Stall, offering a variety of greenery to brighten up any garden and the Cake Stall, where delicious homemade treats await. The Craft Stall will feature unique items created by the talented staff and residents, while the Usborne Books Stall will be a treasure trove for book lovers. The Chronic Crochet Stall, Nature’s Sanctuary Stall and Vivian Joy Custom Crafts Stall will also showcase a stunning array of handmade goods, ensuring there's something for everyone.
Exciting Entertainment & Activities
The festivities will kick off with a special performance by a talented Balloon Artist from 11:30am, who will be creating whimsical balloon sculptures to delight children and adults alike. A family of adorable goats will also be present, providing a perfect opportunity for children to interact with these friendly animals.
At 2pm, local favourite, Rebecca will take to the stage, providing musical entertainment that is sure to get everyone tapping their feet and singing along.
Delicious Food & Thrilling Games
No summer fete would be complete without delicious food and this year’s event will feature a BBQ offering a selection of mouth-watering burgers, veggie burgers, sausages, side salads and drinks.
For those looking for a bit of fun and challenge, a variety of games will be available, including the traditional Coconut Shy, 'Guess the Name of the Bear,' and 'Guess the Weight of the Cake.' Children can also enjoy specially prepared activity packs, ensuring they are entertained throughout the day.
Fantastic Prizes and Auctions
The fete will feature a Tombola and a Raffle with fantastic prizes up for grabs. Raffle tickets can be purchased from Longbridge Deverill Care Home between now and 2.30pm on the day of the event (26th July). The raffle draw will take place at 3pm, bringing the event to an exciting close.
A highlight of the day will be the Cake Auction, featuring the coveted LDNH Deer Cake. Bidders will have the chance to take home this exquisite cake while supporting a good cause.
