Recently at Longbridge Deverill Nursing Home in Warminster, staff have undergone DMI (De-escalation Management & Intervention) training.

The purpose of this training is to upskill staff and help them be competent in managing challenging behaviour that we may experience. This training supports our staff in being able to risk-assess situations and handle them without the need for physical intervention.

Staff learned the variety of responses that can be used to calm a situation, such as through body language and verbal communication.

The safety of both our staff and residents is of utmost priority to us here at Longbridge Deverill Nursing Home, and we will always continue to invest in the training of our staff and the development of our home to ensure that we are well-equipped to provide the very best in care.

This training was also a great opportunity for our staff to learn and grow together, strengthening their relationships and uniting them as a team which we believe is essential for a happy and safe environment for all of those at Longbridge Deverill.
